Born in Brockville, Ontario, in 1968, I grew up in Ottawa before attending
Queen’s University in Kingston. At Queen’s I earned a
bachelor’s degree in history, an honours degree in English literature
and my law degree.
I
completed my articles in Toronto under Clayton Ruby and Marlys Edwardh
at the prestigious criminal defence firm Ruby & Edwardh.
There is no better education than working long hours under the best
in the profession.
I brought my Ruby & Edwardh experience North with me, conducting both
trials and appeals in Northwest Ontario with David Gibson
& Associates. In addition to Ontario Court of Justice and
Superior Court of Justice work in Kenora, I worked on the circuit
courts, flying into remote First Nations communities to defend a multitude
of Criminal Code, Youth Criminal Justice Act and Controlled
Drugs and Substances Act offences.
In July of 2003, I returned to Kingston to set up my current practice.
