I am a Criminal Trial & Appellate Lawyer. Based in Kingston, I also regularly represent clients throughout Eastern Ontario, including Napanee, Belleville and Brockville. The focus of my practice is not general. I defend Criminal Code, Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Youth Criminal Justice Act offences. The best defence lawyers will get you out of trouble as quickly and quietly as possible. This will help you avoid adverse publicity, employment problems, and the high stress levels associated with facing criminal charges. Some of the best work I have performed on behalf of my clients has resulted in the withdrawal of charges early on. In other cases the charges have been withdrawn by the prosecution the day of trial. I have experience in the conduct of Ontario Review Board hearings and in pre-trial interaction with the mental health system. I have also appeared before the National Parole Board with clients in both Parole and Detention Hearings. The most complete defence possible - that's my promise. In some cases this will mean negotiating on your behalf to have charges quietly withdrawn. In others, it might take us from your bail hearing, through pre-trial motions, to jury verdicts.
